International Arbitration

The dedicated team assists and represents clients in international commercial arbitration and in investor-state arbitration proceedings. In particular, the team has developed an expertise in representing State entities in the course of their arbitration.

Afrique Advisors has a significant experience in arbitration proceedings conducted under major arbitration institutions such as ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, CCJA, and ad hoc proceedings. The team has the necessary skills to conduct arbitration proceedings in English, French, and Arabic, and whose seat is located in Morocco or abroad.

The team regularly collaborates with Mayer Brown’s international arbitration lawyers in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Our practice includes the following aspects:

  • Negotiation, validation, and drafting of arbitration clauses and arbitration agreements;

  • Assistance in the choice of arbitration rules or the rules of procedure stipulated in ad hoc arbitration clauses;

  • Implementation of the pre-litigation and litigation strategy in coordination with foreign counsel in the context of complex and/or multi-party arbitrations;

  • Implementation of legal proceedings before or during the arbitration proceedings for protective measures, measures of instruction, or assistance in the constitution of the arbitral tribunal;

  • Preparation and drafting of documents necessary for the arbitration (requests, briefs);

  • Recognition and exequatur of arbitral awards in Morocco and abroad.
