Associate at Afrique Advisors, Maroua practices international commercial arbitration and investment arbitration. She specializes in business litigation, International and European law as well as in domestic and international arbitration, including arbitration proceedings across several sectors and conducted under a variety of applicable laws, under the arbitration rules of the ICC, ICSID and UNCITRAL and in ad hoc proceedings.

 She is a dual-trained practitioner with civil law and common-law experience acquired in Paris (France) and Sydney (Australia). Maroua earned a degree in International and European Law, as well as a Masters in International Business Law from University Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne. She also passed the University Diploma of Applied Language from the same University, associating legal English and Common Law principles with their professional practice. Maroua further specialized in International Law by attending the Winter Courses of the Hague Academy of International Law (Netherlands) and in arbitration by graduating from University Paris-Saclay with a Masters in Arbitration and International Commercial Law and also from the University of Montpellier with the MOOC University Diploma in International Arbitration.

 Prior to joining Afrique Advisors, Maroua had developed a significant expertise in arbitration and litigation through her training and experience, notably within a distinguished international law firm in Mexico City (Mexico) and worked for a renowned Third Party Funder in the financing of cross-border disputes and arbitration procedings in Paris (France).

 In addition to her legal practice, Maroua is also involved in the international public law competition, Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, as well as in the international arbitration competition, Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

 Maroua speaks French, English, Arabic and Spanish. She is also a member of several professional affiliations, including Arbitral Women and Young ICCA.
