Laila is founding and managing Partner at Afrique Advisors and attorney at law at the Paris Bar.

Laila is involved in acquisitions or sales of assets, the setting up of joint ventures and in restructuring operations in many industrial and financial sectors. She is also coordinating legal work between her clients and other stakeholders in the transactions in order to ensure that her clients benefits from the best international practices in the field of sophisticated legal services. In this context, she is regularly involved in the field of energy, infrastructure, international litigation and private equity.

Laila works principally on multidisciplinary and multi-jurisdictional issues. She regularly represents the Kingdom of Morocco in international disputes. She also advises leading Moroccan banks in the context of the restructuration of their overseas activities and provide legal services to private equity funds in their acquisition projects.

She was previously a senior associate lawyer at Mayer Brown Paris, where she specialized in the tax structuring of high-value cross-border transactions notably in the form of leverage-buy-out. She has also coordinated complex multidisciplinary projects involving financial, corporate and tax law.

In addition to her legal work, Laila is actively involved in various civil society initiatives focusing on the promotion of a friendly regulation for entrepreneurship and startups. She is the vice president of the EFE association, an NGO with the mission to empower youth in Morocco with demand-driven skills that lead to employment. She is also a member of the board of We Speak Citizen, an NGO with the ambition to open up the rural world through economic inclusion and the co-construction of territorial development.

Laila is a member of the Corporate Social Responsibility commission of CGEM (the General Confederation of Moroccan Companies).
